Bought them for winter trecking, as I also have the large iron ice grips.
Had some very nice experiences, and trully recommend this product.
The sole is really really tough, it does not bend at all, so do not buy them if you would like to use them without snow on the ground.
They are extremely warm, tested them at -20 degrees celsius in a 3 day track.
Have to sell them as I hurt my spine and it is impossible to go on the mountain anymore.
I usually wear 49 (EUR), or 13(UK), but I needed the size 50 (EUR), as you wear them with warm merino socks.
They have some signs from the rocks and metalic grips, but 100% they can deliver the safety and comfort you need.
